These queens are local - grafted, hatched and mated here in northern Utah. They are daughters of my very best queens in terms of honey production, Utah winter survival, mite control and gentleness. I select for these traits, not a specific race of bee. However, they are primarily descended from Carniolan and Italian stock. These queens are young and actively laying when caged.
Your queens will come in caged a plastic or wooden cage with a sugar plug to keep your bees from releasing her for 1-3 days. The cage will be in a container containing nurse bees to keep your queen cared for and feed during transport. Your queen will do best if introduced to your queenless colony as soon as possible.
Pick-up Details:
Queens will be available for pickup on our Nuc pick-up days - between the 4th Saturday of April and the 2nd Saturday of May, depending on weather conditions.
We will notify you with the specific date and time for pickup once those dates have been set.
Keep your queen out of direct sunlight and not too hot or cold (65-75 degrees) until you put her into your queenless colony.
